Repent and Return
Scripture Passage: Malachi 1:1-5, Malachi 3:1-7
From Series: "Return to Me"
The Old Testament prophets were God’s messengers sent to invite God’s people to return to the Lord. The prophets proclaim both judgment and salvation. The Book of Twelve, or minor prophets, speak of major biblical themes. They stand as a warning to those who persist in sin, idolatry, and even spiritual adultery. They also proclaim the character of God who protects His people and saves them from the coming wrath if His people would but turn to Him in faith. These messengers who speak on God’s behalf point us to the One sent by God who is God Himself. He’s a prophet for sure, but He’s more than just a prophet. He is the One who truly turns us back to a living relationship with God.
