God’s Regret and Rejection of the King
Don’t follow the king who doesn’t obey the Lord. Follow the King who obeys the Lord completely.

The failure of earthly rulers reveals to us that Jesus is the one true King. He is the only ruler who can judge us and fight our battles. He brings freedom and life. The book of 1 Samuel shows us the consequences of putting our hopes and dreams in an earthly king, ultimately revealing that there is no other king than Jesus.
