About Vacation Bible School at Grace
Vacation Bible School, or VBS as we call it, is an annual, week-long, summer program for kids entering Grades 1–6 in the fall and students entering Grades 7–8 in the fall. Each day kids learn Bible truths straight from stories in the Bible and engage in fun, hands-on activities like games, science experiments, and more. We also utilize catchy music and interactive hand motions to help reinforce our theme. Kids walk away from VBS with a new or deeper relationship with Jesus and tools to help them follow Him better.
How VBS Works
Kids Entering Grades 1–6
Each day parents will check their kids in at a check-in station and walk their child to their crew leader. The morning will kick off with a Sing & Play Splash where we will worship through song and meet a Bible Memory Buddy before individual crews embark on their daily journey! Each crew will then rotate through the following stations: Imagination Station, Reef Rec, Sticky Scripture, Deep Bible Adventures, and Tidal Treats. All the crews will come back together for the Fin-tastic Finale. Parents are invited to sit-in on the closing group time and then pick their child up from their crew leader immediately after.
Students Entering Grades 7–8
Youth will check themselves in at a check-in station and gather with the youth group. They will help lead songs and participate in the Sing & Play Splash, and then have their own Bible teaching time. Throughout the day the youth will help serve snacks, lead group games, and engage in Bible-based discussions. At the end of each morning they will participate in the Fin-tastic Finale — while throwing in a few surprises for the younger kids…beach balls, confetti, or toilet paper might make an appearance!

School Supply Donations
This year at VBS we have the opportunity to help kids in our own church neighborhood! Worthington Park Elementary and Worthington Slate Hill Elementary both serve a diverse community, many of whom are in need of support. These local schools welcome kids from many nations, speaking many different languages. Our school supply donations will help build a welcoming and stable environment to foster learning among the diverse population while building bridges for Gospel proclamation.
Have your child bring in items from the list below during the week of VBS and place them in the designated donation area for boys and girls for a friendly competition to see which group brings in the most supplies.

What We’ll Learn at VBS
You can help make VBS amazing!
Volunteer
No deep sea adventure can be completed without a strong support team! We need volunteers for all parts of the journey: leading the crews on their adventures, staffing activity stations, and keeping our crews fed. See the link below for the full list of volunteer options.
Volunteer registration runs from April 7–June 16.
Donate Funds
Financial donations enable us to bless kids in our community with a free Vacation Bible School experience. Each donation of $30 supports one child participating in the ministry of VBS where they encounter Jesus and learn about friendship with God.
Donate Goods
We are no longer able to accept donated items. If you wish to contribute in another way, financial donations can be made through the “Donate Funds” link above.
Here’s a look back at last year’s fun!
Frequently Asked Questions
Where do I drop off my child?
Elementary (Grades 1–6) Arrival and Daily Check-In:
Each morning of VBS, please plan to walk your child(ren) in for check-in. An adult must accompany each child on their first day. Please enter at our main Worship Center north entrance, facing Lazelle Road next to our Resource Center. Check-in and registration is located at our Grace Kids Welcome Entrance. Check-in will begin at 8:40 a.m. Children are required to check-in EACH DAY for a NEW name tag since color and code change daily.
Youth (Grades 7–8) Arrival and Check-In:
Please plan arrive each day at 8:40 a.m. in the Worship Center north entrance (facing Lazelle Road, by Resource Center). This entrance will open at 8:40 a.m. each day. Middle Schoolers are to proceed to a check-in station, search on their last name or last 4-digits of the phone number used in their registration. They should make sure the box to left of their name has a green check mark. Next press the green Print button to get their name tag, and then report to Alli Nathan near the south entrance in the Worship Center Auditorium. A parent/adult must accompany your student to check-in on the first day to prevent confusion. All other doors will be locked.
Where do I pick up my child?
Elementary (Grades 1–6) Pick Up:
Please plan to come in and pickup your child(ren) each day at 12:00 p.m. in the Worship Center Auditorium. Children cannot be dismissed without a parent or guardian present with a claim tag from Grace Polaris Church that matches your child’s VBS tag code (actual tag or an image of it with the correct date). If misplaced, show a photo ID to the registration team for a replacement.
Youth (Grades 7–8) Pick Up:
Students will be dismissed for pick up each day at 12:00 p.m. following the Closing Ceremony in the Worship Center Auditorium. Please plan accordingly with your student.
Can I observe any part of VBS?
You are welcome to enjoy the opening and closing celebrations each day with fun for all! For your child’s safety, only trained and verified staff are permitted to accompany children throughout the rest of the building without prior arrangements. Thank you for understanding. Please see the More Info & Parent Brochure section below for the current link to more helpful details.

Where can I purchase a VBS t-shirt and music CD?
The purchase of VBS t-shirts and a limited amount of Sing & Play Music MP3 cards and CDs are optional and will be available beginning in May at the Grace Polaris Church Resource Center near the north Worship Center entrance (facing Lazelle Road).
Can I get VBS text updates?

NOTE: Do not respond to emergency texts as they come from an unmonitored number, for outgoing informational purposes only. For all other issues, emails will be sent so please check your email before and during VBS week.
How can I get prayer during VBS?
Thank you for praying with us for a wonderful and safe week, learning about God’s Word. If you have praises and prayer requests related to VBS or to folks somehow involved in VBS, this is the place! You will be able to choose if your praises and/or prayer requests are confidential or non-confidential between now and the end of VBS by texting “VBSpray” (all one word!) to 614-888-7733. During VBS you may also submit praises and prayer requests on paper. Simply look for the containers with paper/pencils near some of the auditorium exits. All submissions will be kept under strict confidence unless stated otherwise. Anonymous submissions are not available online but can be done on paper during VBS week near a few auditorium entrances.
