Every summer Grace Polaris Church sends out short-term teams to engage in new cultures among new people for the sake of the Gospel. Participants hope to draw nearer to Christ and have an impact for Him in a variety of locations among a number of different types of people. This summer we have put together three teams, and I want to ask you to take some time to pray for each of them right now.

The Atlanta Team

Pastor Dan has put together a group to go to Atlanta to engage in Encompass World Partners’ Encounter ATL. The goal of the trip is to be exposed to God’s heart for the nations and the many opportunities He has given us to make disciples of all nations without even leaving our country’s borders. They will be spending time engaging with Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, and more as they learn strategies for sharing the good news with each of these groups. Please pray that God would teach them many new insights as they grow as His ambassadors among the nations in our midst.

The Philadelphia Team

Pastor Zac has a team of young men going to Urban Hope Training Center to take part in this summer’s Streetwise event. Similar to Encounter ATL, this is an event focused on exposure and training to a variety of cultures. Each day the participants will have the opportunity to learn some practical steps to reach out to people from a variety of cultures in an urban setting. They will spend time serving the homeless in a downtown park, connecting with Cambodians through a kid’s club, and even doing prayer walks in the Kensington neighborhood. Please pray that each team member would take away one or two things that will impact how they engage with people who are far from God in Columbus, Ohio.

The Haiti Team

Grace will be sending 16 people to Cap-Haïtien to work alongside Caribbean Vision Ministries and Three Strands for a week. While on the ground in Haiti, they will engage in inner-city church planting work by serving the children of the neighborhood, they will serve at the medical clinic, and they will help care for the facilities of the House of Hope Orphanage. Each of these activities provide tangible ways to come alongside the long-term ministries that are changing lives and pointing people to Jesus. Please pray that the team would be humble learners, intentional encouragers, and gain insights for long-term involvement in global ministry.

As you can see, many people from Grace will be on-the-go this summer for the sake of spreading the good news about Jesus in Atlanta, Philadelphia, and Haiti. Please be praying for these teams, as we know that anything of lasting value that comes from these trips will be the work of God in and through His people.
